cheap looking barrels in Black (opaque) and Green
Description:
Jetstream pens reached the shores of Australia for about 3-4years now, and is ever-growing in popularity. I've been an avid fan of Uni-ball's Jetstream because it offers a perfect blend between the smoothness of a gel pen and the stability of a ballpoint. Being a ballpoint pen user (due to leackages with gel pens) i absolutely fell in love with Jetstream the first time I used it, so to discover a MULTI-PEN was like Christmas 5 months early.
I decided to purchase a green barrel (don't ask...) and a black barrel for my bestie. At first glance, it frankly looks a bit cheap. The overall appearance doesn't appeal to me as much as the single coloured jetstreams available. The grip doesnt look comfortable but surprisngly performs when writing. It's got the same rubber texture as a single Jetstream and the diameter of the barrel is similar too, making a comfortable writing experience.
Grip doesn't perform with a slippery sensation after prolonged use
The ink works fabulously. Can't go wrong with Jetstreams. However, I find that the 0.7mm tip on this multi to be just a tad sharper than on the single 0.7mm but it's not of much concern. The weight of the pen is light, allowing for long term use without much fatigue, however for those who do enjoy a little weight with their pens, this may be a little too light.
Overall:
Another FANTASTIC pen to add to the range for Uni-Ball. The convienience of having 3 colours in one pen is always a bonus. A little disappointed about the overall cheap look and cheap feel, but the ink and writability compensates.
Price range:Economic - $6.00 from Jetpens.com
Pros:
- Superior Jetstream quality ink
- Price
- Convienience
- Cheap looking barrel
- Not very heavy
- Grip could be improved though not a major concern
